According to the interpretive board, the bay was settled by three brothers involved in whaling but not pre-dating the settlement of Sydney. Also from memory, where there were ruins aka. a line of bricks in the ground where a house used to stand, supposedly of a Spanish settlement, way way before Mr. Cook. Don't know if that's true or not. The bricks looked ancient.
