5/52

Silly hour on the beach with his best friend.

She leaves us in two weeks. She has become such a huge part of our lives. He looks for her first thing every morning. My heart is already breaking for his loss. I do not know how I will explain it to him.

It was late in the day, the light was low, and my lens was refusing to auto-focus. The shot is terribly grainy. There were clearer ones I could have chosen. But I love his energy, and their connection. It's tough, but I am relishing the process of selecting just one frame.

Joining in with the inspiring Jodi.

You can see the whole series of portraits here.

Wow! So glad I found your blog. I think it great that everyone has to choose one photo. It's a good exercise in restraint, I'm doing the 52 project a little differently, so I'm not in the same predicament. I want to see more photos of the lighthouse! Such a romantic way to live!

What a beautiful beach! I just love the expression on his face here and the sense of movement. Completely understand the feeling of trying to choose between a photo that is technically correct and one that just conveys the feeling you were hoping to capture. I think you made the right choice :)
Intrigued by Ruby's comment, off to check out your blog now too!
